I'm an American

Everyday I am thankful for the great country in which we live.  Although imperfect like human nature, our system of governance, when properly checked and balanced, is the best way for a free and independent people to preserve personal liberty in a peaceful manner.  Too often, however, we are told of it's proposed inadequecies and of some imminent peril seemingly always at our doorstep.   Through fear, we are lead to believe that the only answer is more government mandates and control.  Today's narrative tells us that we the people cannot figure it out.  This is complete baloney.  As Ronald Reagan once said, 'the scariest words you'll ever hear are 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you'".

The Endless Crisis
The biggest reason for the perpetual pessimism is the insanity of using the same solution over and over:  more bureaucracy through more taxes.  Government is a servant to the people, ensuring our security and assisting with infrastructure.  Through the free markets, the best answers can be found.  These are the principles that underlie how I believe policies should be directed.  From schools to energy to healthcare, government is not the solution.  Vote Franzen in 08 to take the power out of St. Paul and back to you.
